For three years, the mission of the HoustonRunningCalendar.com site has been to link readers to upcoming run events. To keep that focus I've had a policy of excluding walking events with no running component. Well, I've decided to launch WeWalkHouston.com as a place where I can link to these events that raise funds and awareness for various causes here in our communities in the Houston area.

Readers, your help with this project is welcomed. If you know of a walk event that would benefit from a little more publicity, email me at list@wewalkhouston.com and tell me:

• Name of the event
• Date of the event
• Geographic area of town or known landmark where the event takes place
• Benefit charity or cause, if it's not obvious from the event name
• Website URL where readers can learn more or sign up
